Course description: This course will cover the nuances that renting residential property poses to the real estate licensee. Students will learn the License Law issues that apply to rentals. Tenant screening techniques to avoid fair housing violations will be addressed along with using credit reports & other consumer reports. Other Fair Housing issues including assistance animals, reasonable accommodations, housing vouchers, source of income & other hot rental topics will also be covered. Escrow issues, security deposit laws, disclosure laws, and local ordinances will be discussed.
